The Nimbus Lift Control System: Elevating Everyday Experiences

Expectations around lift performance, reliability, and transparency have never been higher. Building owners, facilities managers, and lift contractors are facing increasing pressure to keep people moving safely and efficiently.

The ILE Nimbus Lift Control System is designed with all of this in mind, simplifying lift management at every level. In this blog post, Matt Miller, Research & Development Manager at ILE, explains why the controller stands out as an all-round solution.

Making everyday life easier

Whether it’s a commercial office, residential block or hospital, some of the biggest priorities when it comes to lift installations are visibility and reliability.

“Engineers and managers often have to juggle multiple projects, dealing with increasingly complex operations, and facing mounting time constraints,” Matt explains. “We find that more and more people are looking for ways to boost efficiency. And when it comes to lift systems, the controller sits at the heart of everything. This means that it plays a critical role in helping everyday operations run more smoothly.”

Matt describes ILE’s Nimbus as an all-round compact controller solution that’s been designed to deliver complete lift system visibility at every stage.

Everything you need, all in one place

“For Nimbus, we wanted to make sure the unit had an intuitive, icon-based interface that’s quick and easy to use. It needed to provide seamless access to lift parameters and real-time lift status. It also had to have a built-in live lift viewer, with everything available at the click of a button. We just wanted to make it easier than ever to understand lift performance, and there really are no shortcuts when it comes to that user experience.”

Matt explains how the easy-to-use touchscreen navigation gives the user complete confidence and clarity in overseeing everyday tasks like monitoring trends and planning maintenance.

Saving time, from start to finish

With a user-friendly plug-and-play setup, the time spent on lift management, fault-finding and performance analysis is kept to a minimum. ILE’s Nimbus has been designed to deliver complete visibility, showing a holistic picture of what’s happening. There’s no need to access multiple interfaces either, reducing complexity and saving time.

Collaboration and connection at the core

Smart connectivity also means maximum efficiency, Matt explains, from the time of installation through to ongoing maintenance. “Having these icon-based shortcuts make it simple to access frequently used functions, so you can respond quickly to faults and keep systems running smoothly.”

Another key strength of Nimbus is its collaboration functionality. Using TeamViewer, one user can collaborate virtually with another. “The virtual reality interface can share a clear view of the motor room,” Matt says, “which makes life easier for the engineer. It allowsthem to collect visuals for diagnostics, but it also lets our technical team support them by connecting directly to the Nimbus control system to fine-tune parameters for optimal lift performance.”

Fit for the future

With the lift market and landscape constantly shifting, it’s crucial to choose a control system that can adapt with changing needs. With its versatile design and emphasis on data and connectivity, Nimbus offers flexibility and longevity, simplifying lift management – both now and in the future.
