How Lift Specialists found a winning partnership recipe

“Just like ILE, we believe that repeat business is critical for any successful company. That means that we continuously invest in customer relationships and strive to deliver the right service at the right time. We often work together with ILE to provide unique lift solutions, tailored to the customer’s needs. There is no ‘one size fits all’.”

Olly Voutt, Managing Director of Lift Specialists

Introduction

Since 1982, Lift Specialists Ltd have steadily grown to become one of the UK’s largest independent lift modernisation companies. Operating throughout London and the Southeast, the company provides the highest standard of service and equipment to their clients – primarily for local authorities and social housing.

The challenge

Meeting stringent requirements

One key focus area for the business is hospitals, where they meet stricter requirements for sustainable and reliable equipment than in any other sector. The organisation also has a range of prestigious commercial clients, providing custom solutions that prolong the life of installations. “Our secret is our workforce,” explains Olly Voutt, Managing Director of Lift Specialists. “We hire the best, industry-trained skilled engineers, and we are also investing in a complete, in-house apprenticeship programme.”

The approach

Equipment and installation success

The winning combination of equipment from ILE and skilled installation by the Lift Specialists team means that customers receive exceptional value at every level, which is a driving factor for Olly and his team.

The makings of a great partnership

Lift Specialists have been an ILE customer since 1999. They install a range of ILE equipment from manufacturers such as GAL, Prisma, and Ziehl Abegg. This includes anything from lift controllers to full modernisation packages and MRLs. “We work together from survey to handover,” says Nancy Lycett, ILE. “Our salespeople, designers, project managers, and technical support engineers are all available to Lift Specialists at every stage of the process. What makes our partnership so successful is the transparency that we share, based on our long standing, productive, working relationship.”

The result

British made, British strong

Both companies share a mission to deliver affordable quality to clients. Lift Specialists continuously encourage their customers to place orders for the professional installation of robust, British-made equipment. In turn, the company benefits from the extended ILE warranties that exceed those of other manufacturers. They also have access to strong technical back-up from a team that knows how the equipment should be fitted and maintained. This creates a successful relationship underpinned by knowledge, experience, confidence, and respect.
